1936
The origins of Brantner
The story of the Austrian family business Brantner, headquartered in Krems an der Donau (Lower Austria), begins when Walter Brantner senior (born in 1910, died 1992) founds a cab and later travel agency and bus company.
1960
Continuing the tradition
His son, Walter Brantner junior (born 1940), joins the family business and begins the continuous development of a national and international transport company.
1976
Expansion into new areas
The business areas Waste Management and Municipal Services are founded. Services are offered to the first municipalities in Austria (Lower Austria).
1991
The driving force behind the expansion
Thanks to the expertise and vision of Walter Brantner junior, the corporate divisions transport and logistics, waste disposal and municipal services are continuously expanded in Western and Eastern Europe. In the following years, numerous subsidiaries are founded in Germany and Luxembourg.
1992
Slovakia: Beyond national borders
Brantner Nova's first branch in Slovakia was established in Spišská Nová Ves in 1992.
1993
Czech Republic: Further branches in Europe
Economic growth brought Brantner to Mladá Boleslav in the Czech Republic in 1993.
2000
The next generation
Bernd Brantner, son of Walter Brantner junior, joins the company. The national and international expansion of the Brantner Group continues successively.
2004
Continuous growth
The steady growth continues. Further Brantner branches are opened in Slovenia. The travel agencies are outsourced from the Brantner Group. In this year also one of the largest corporate acquisitions for the Brantner Group take place: the acquisition of NUA Abfallwirtschaft from the province of Lower Austria.

Romania: another branch abroad
Further Brantner branches are established in Romania.
2007
Serbia: Further branches
The first branch in Serbia in Novi becej was founded in 2007.
2010
Opening a branch in Göpfritz
In 2010 we celebrated the opening of our Brantner Transport branch in Göpfritz an der Wild.
2011
Brantner Group broadens its horizons
The Brantner Group ventures into the Asian region and establishes its first branch in Turkey. At the same time, the Facility Services division is established in Austria.
2015
Diversification of the transport portfolio
Expansion of the transportation portfolio through forwarding activities, warehouse logistics and plant logistics.

Foundation of STL-Logistics in the Waldviertel region
The economic success of Brantner logistic solutions opened up further opportunities, which is why STL-Logistics was founded in the Waldviertel region in 2015 with additional services such as warehouse logistics, local transport distribution Waldviertel, area distribution Austria, express services and relocations.

Expansion course consolidates growth
Continuous expansion through the establishment of new branches in South-East Europe.

Pioneering spirit in waste management
Global innovator in slag processing by the Brantner Wet-Slag System (BWS). Pioneer of the PLUG-IN hybrid press waste vehicle.

Opening of the paddock area in Ort (Upper Austria)
Our employees are our most valuable asset. For this reason, a paddock area was set up in Ort im Innkreis, Upper Austria, in 2017.

Opening warehouse logistics Krems, Brennaustraße 8
An additional logistics warehouse was opened in Krems. We are experts in short and long-term storage, order picking, detailed distribution and processing of all types of goods.

Extensive digitalization processes are being implemented.

Brantner Group in transition
Start of construction of Erdenreich, Austria's most modern compost and soil factory in Krems-Gneixendorf. Start of the expansion of the processing plant for the demetallization of waste incineration slag in Hohenruppersdorf. Exit from the German market and sale of German branches. Establishment of the "Digital Solutions" specialist area. Species protection concept "Bees at Brantner", innovation event "B-In-Challenge". Re-branding "Brantner green solutions".

Erdenreich
Opening of the Erdenreich plant, Austria's most modern compost and soil factory.
2022
Brantner continues expansion
Takeover of a waste disposal company in Wulkaprodersdorf and the company Indeco in Romania.

Opening Krems, Warehouse Logistics Dr. Franz Wilhelmstraße 2
Warehouse planning and warehouse design continue to play a major role. Another logistics warehouse was put into operation at Dr. Franz-Wilhelm-Straße 2, 3500 Krems.

65 Branches
The Brantner Group is represented by 65 branches in Austria, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
A major milestone reached in Slovakia: the two companies Brantner green solutions and SPP establish joint venture CEBZ s.r.o. for the construction of waste recycling centers for biological energy production! These centers will use innovative technologies to enable more efficient waste recycling as well as the production of biomethane, compost and solid alternative fuels and thus promote the circular economy.
2024
Foundation of BEG - Brantner Energy Community
We are the first operator in the waste management sector to supply our sites with our own electricity from a supra-regional community energy association. The Brantner Energy Community already comprises five photovoltaic systems and three hydroelectric power plants. This innovative step towards energy self-sufficiency underlines our commitment to a greener future.
