industrially manufactured aggregate
When residual waste is incinerated, various non-combustible materials are left behind: ashes, bricks, ceramics – and also metals such as iron, aluminum and copper. With Brantner Slagtory technology, even the smallest metals, the thickness of a human hair, can be removed from the ash. These are crushed, washed, sieved and the metals and salts removed. Approximately 80% of the resulting ashes can be recycled and does not have to be disposed of in landfills. This saves large amounts of CO2.
The industrially manufactured aggregate (IPA) is so clean after the process that it can be used for concrete production or road construction and comply with ÖNORM B4710-1, ÖNORM EN 12620 and ÖNORM EN 13242. Brantner’s research and development of aggregates from ash is an important contribution to the circular economy.
